Due to coronavirus outbreak, RIVAL Lacrosse is postponing all play, boys and girls, all locations, until Friday May 1st.
Tuesday March 24th: Coronavirus Update
Dear parents, players and coaches,
Here we are in week 2 of our COVID-19 postponement. Surely we all have stories to tell of work/school from home adventures, and we look forward to hearing them sometime soon! In the meantime, we continue to monitor the advice & recommendations of school, government & health care officials as to our ability to get back out on the field.
As we're sure you know, Governor Cooper has extended the closure of NC public schools until May 15th. Our facilities partners in Chapel Hill, Durham and Raleigh have extended their closures until May 1st, at which point they will update their schedules. As such, we here at RIVAL have made the decision to further postpone our season until at least May 1st.
RIVAL still plans to hold our spring season this year, albeit possibly abbreviated. We might have to adapt our group sizes to align with current healthcare recommendations, but we have some good ideas brewing of just how we can do that. We want to keep everybody happy & healthy!
We also recognize the financial impact that the current shutdown is having on our community. RIVAL is a small community business with just a few employees, and we too are feeling the crunch. We are currently finalizing a refund/rebate policy to support our families should they need to alter their plans this spring. We will announce those details in the near future. We certainly hope that you will stick with us through this difficult and historic time!
Again we apologize for any inconvenience this postponement causes. If you have any questions, feel free reach out to us via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We appreciate your continued patience as we work through all of the details. Keep an eye out for updates via email, text and our social media. We will also be mirroring all updates on our website: www.rivallaxnc.com.
