October 16th, 2020

RIVAL is canceled tomorrow due to the rain. Sorry folks!
We will return to the field next Saturday, Oct 24th.

**************************************
We now have two rain make-up dates scheduled:
Saturday afternoon, October 31st
Saturday afternoon, November 7th
at Ravenscroft School in Raleigh!!!

Hello Parents & Players!

What a phenomenal first day of our Fall Instructional Program this past Saturday! It was great to see everyone again, and was especially good to see so many new lax players try the sport for the first time! We are particularly grateful for all of the parents who drove us out to play lacrosse on Saturday, we couldn't do it without you!!!

Pics from Session 1

As we approach session number 2 this coming Saturday, please keep an eye out for our emails & updates on our web site and social media. There is a threat of tropical rain hitting out area on Saturday.

We'd also like to kindly remind everyone of the Covid-19 rules/guidelines that Ravenscroft has asked us to follow (see below). RIVAL is a guest at Ravenscroft, and we are renting their facilities. Unlike many of the public school systems in our area, Ravenscroft is open for on-campus learning. Approximately 85% of their student body is on campus during the week. This is why they have asked us to abide by the following rules/guidelines (which are mirrored on our web site). We had a few incidents on Saturday where parents were walking on campus and school security asked them to return to their cars.

DROP-OFF & PICK-UP AT RAVENSCROFT

To help guide you when entering campus, we would like everyone to follow this procedure. Please see the Campus Map and follow the arrows to the spot marked "X" to drop-off and pick-up players.

Boys: Drop-off begins at 12:45PM.

  • Have your Covid-19 certification form printed and signed before you leave the house. Please remember to bring water to drink for your players!
  • Cars are to enter Ravenscroft from the Falls of Neuse entrance. Follow the arrows to the drop-off/pick-up location. A RIVAL staff member will be standing at the entrance to Lot B to direct traffic.
  • Follow the arrows to the spot marked "X" on the campus map. You will be dropping your players off from the carpool line. Have your players dressed for lacrosse in the vehicle; for the boys, please leave your helmet off until you get out of the car and we take your temperature.
  • Players will be supervised by a RIVAL staff member at the drop-off/pick-up location and then walked over to their respective playing field where another coach will supervise the group until practice begins at 1:00PM.
  • If parents decide to stay on campus they can park and remain in their car until 2:15PM. Parking is available in Lots A, B and C. Your cooperation is expected and appreciated.
  • Face masks are to be worn at all times when walking on campus, and social distancing is to be observed whenever possible.
  • Pick-up begins at 2:15PM.
  • Players will be escorted back to the drop-off/pick-up location where they will be supervised by a RIVAL staff member until their parents drive up in the carpool line. We will escort your players to your car, and help get them loaded up to leave.

Please assist us by making sure you follow these guidelines. These are extraordinary times, and we are asked to follow the rules. We do not want to lose the privilege that Ravenscroft is providing to us this fall!

Thanks!
